Liturgical Help Needed; Training Next Week

Several months ago, St. Michael added a weekend Mass to help accommodate pandemic restrictions on Mass attendance. Our Mass attendance numbers are now back to normal, and the new schedule has proven so popular that we plan to maintain it going forward.

As a result, we are in need of more liturgical ministers—especially altar servers, ushers and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs)—at all Mass times.

Scheduled training sessions and minimum requirements for servers, ushers and EMHCs are as follows:

• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Tuesday, August 17, following the evening Mass (approximately 7 PM); must be confirmed and at least 18 years old
• Ushers: Wednesday, August 18, at 7 PM; adults or teens ninth grade and up
• Altar Servers: Thursday, August 19, at 7 PM; boys or girls sixth grade and up

Liturgical ministers are generally scheduled once a month at their preferred Mass time, and new Ministers will not be scheduled before September. For more information, contact Cindy at [email protected] or 612-470-4398.
