"At the death of a Christian, whose life of faith was begun in the waters of Baptism and strengthened at the Eucharistic table, the Church intercedes on behalf of the deceased because of its confident belief that death is not the end, nor does it break the bonds forged in life. The Church also ministers to the sorrowing and consoles them in the funeral rites with the comforting Word of God and the Sacrament of the Eucharist." – Order of Christian Funerals, no. 4
If you have recently lost a loved one, please accept our deepest condolences. Please contact our ministry coordinator Cindy Woitalla at 612-470-4398 for assistance in scheduling and planning a funeral at St. Michael Catholic Church.
The current St. Michael Catholic Cemetery is owned and operated by St. Michael Catholic Church since 1951. Catholic cemeteries are not available to the general public, but are set aside for the interment of Catholics and members of their families who are entitled to Christian burial according to the rules and discipline of the Roman Catholic Church. A Catholic cemetery seeks to communicate the image of the communion of saints, and those who request burial within a Catholic cemetery are making this profession of faith. However, out of compassion, at the request of the family our pastor may grant permission for a non-Catholic member of a parish family to be interred in our cemetery, as long as this would not be a cause of scandal to faithful Catholics.
St. Michael Catholic Cemetery is located on Highway 19 one mile south of 241 on the east side of the road. To purchase a plot or for more information about our cemetery, please contact the parish office at 763‐497-2745.
