The solmenities of Christmas and Mary, Mother of God, are on Saturdays this year, which makes the Mass schedule interesting:
Christmas is, of course, a Holy Day of Obligation. Our Mass times are Christmas Eve at 4:00 PM (Children’s Mass), 6:30 PM, and 10:00 PM and Christmas Day at 9:00 and 11:00 AM.
Sunday, December 26, is NOT Christmas, but is still the Lord’s Day, which means we need to go to Mass again. Sunday Mass times are 7:30, 9:00, and 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
We will NOT have a 5:00 PM Mass on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25. Our responsibility, then, is to go to Mass on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and again on Sunday.
On the other hand,
since January 1, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, is on a Saturday, the bishops have removed the obligation to attend a Holy Day Mass that day. We will still celebrate this feast of Our Blessed Mother at 9:00 AM that Saturday and would love to see you there. We will celebrate all of our regular Sunday Masses that weekend: Saturday at 5:00 PM; Sunday at 7:30, 9:00, and 11:00 AM, and 6:00 PM.
