Q&A: What about Senior Living on our Campus?

Whatever happened to the idea of building a senior living facility on our campus?

Prior to spring of 2020, we were deep in negotiations with a developer interested in building a Catholic senior living community on our campus. Two things changed: First, the demand for senior living dried up as people worried about COVID restrictions and practices in these facilities, and second, code requirements for new senior living construction changed, making these facilities much more expensive to build. We remain open to the possibility of a senior living community here, but those plans are currently on hold.
